Residential Rebates

High Efficiency Toilet Retrofit

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), toilets account for roughly 30% of a home’s indoor water use. In order to conserve potable water while reducing costs to the consumer, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates to customers who replace their existing toilets that use 3.5 gallons or more per flush with high efficiency EPA WaterSense certified toilets. These EPA WaterSense approved toilets use only 1.28 gallons per flush or less, resulting in a significant reduction in potable water use! Products that earn the WaterSense label are independently certified to ensure they meet water efficiency and quality performance standards.

Up to $100 rebate available.

Soil Moisture Sensor (SMS) or Evapotranspiration (ET) Controller

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, residential outdoor water use in this country requires more than 9 billion gallons of water each day. In order to conserve potable water while reducing costs to the consumer, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates to homeowners with excessive irrigation who install a soil moisture sensor (SMS) or evapotranspiration (ET) controller. Soil moisture sensors measure how much water is in the soil and will prevent an automatic irrigation system from watering if the soil is already wet enough. Evapotranspiration controllers monitor weather conditions, like temperature and humidity, to determine how much water your plants need, and they adjust the automatic watering schedule accordingly.

Up to $250 rebate available.

Shallow Wells for Outdoor Irrigation

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, residential outdoor water use in this country requires more than 9 billion gallons of water each day. In order to conserve potable water while reducing costs to the consumer, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates to homeowners designated as deficit or excessive irrigators for the installation of a shallow well to replace potable water irrigation.

Up to $1,000 rebate available.

Multi-Family High Efficiency Toilet Retrofit

Florida Water Star

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, residential outdoor water use nationwide is more than 9 billion gallons of water each day! In order to conserve potable water while reducing costs to homeowners, the Tampa Bay Water Wise program is offering a rebate to builders of new single-family residential homes that become Florida Water Star℠ certified. Non-Residential Rebates

High Efficiency Toilet Retrofit

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), toilets account for approximately 30% of a home’s indoor water use.

Cooling Towers (COC)

Cooling towers are used in commercial buildings to remove the heat generated by computers, lights, people, and more. This process of removing heat requires a significant amount of water. As part of an effort to reduce potable water use, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates for businesses that increase the cycles of concentration (COC) for their cooling tower from less than 3 to at least 6 COC’s or more. This increase in the cycles of concentration can benefit public health by reducing potential contamination (ex: legionella), and it will save water.

Up to $1,000 rebate available.

Non-Residential Commercial Dishwasher

Older commercial dishwashers can use a significant amount of water each day. As part of an effort to increase the efficiency of potable water use, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates for restaurants that replace their existing, non-Energy Star certified dishwashers with Energy Star labeled Conveyor-Type Dishwashers. These Energy Star certified dishwashers can increase water efficiency by approximately 50% when compared to standard models!

Up to $400 rebate available.

Non-Residential Pre-Rinse Spray Valve

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, pre-rinse spray valves are responsible for nearly one-third of the water used in a commercial kitchen. In fact, almost 53 billion gallons of water are used each year by commercial kitchens to rinse their dishes. As part of an effort to increase efficient use of potable water, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates for restaurants and food industry establishments (for example assisted living facilities, nursing homes, care facilities, hospitals, or other) that replace their existing 3.0 gallons per minute pre-rinse spray valves with valves that meet the U.S. Department of Energy standard of 1.00 to 1.28 gallons per minute. This standard has the potential to save 60% of water compared to the 3 gallon models!

Up to $50 rebate available.

Non-Residential Tank-Type Toilet

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), more than 25% of commercial toilets in the U.S. are using flush volumes between 3 and 7 gallons of water per flush. In order to conserve potable water while reducing costs to the consumer, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates to businesses who replace their existing toilets with high efficiency EPA WaterSense-labeled toilets. These EPA WaterSense approved toilets use only 1.28 gallons per flush (or less), potentially resulting in a significant reduction in potable water use compared to 3.5 gallon per flush models! Products that earn the WaterSense label are independently certified to ensure they meet water efficiency and quality performance standards.

Up to $75 rebate available.

Non-Residential Half-Gallon Urinal

In order to conserve potable water while reducing costs to the consumer, Tampa Bay Water Wise is offering rebates to businesses who replace their existing urinals, using at least 1.0 gallons per flush (gpf), with EPA WaterSense labeled urinals using 0.5 gpf. Products that earn the WaterSense label are independently certified to ensure they meet water efficiency and quality performance standards.
