Contractors interested in participating in the Tampa Bay Water Wise rebate program can find additional resources and information here, which is supplemental to the main rebate pages. These resources will be updated periodically.
How to Become an Approved Contractor
Licensed irrigation contractors can become approved by attending a one-day training. This free training is taught by irrigation experts from the University of Florida, the Florida Irrigation Society and Tampa Bay Water Wise. This training focuses on best practices for installing smart irrigation controllers.
At least one person from a company needs attends the free training. All other employees who install devices in association with the rebate must be trained by the employee who attended or watch a recording.
The UF procedures for smart controller installation are available here: Recommendations for Optimizing Use of Smart Irrigation Controllers (UF IFAS).
Please note, to avoid citation from your local water utility, local watering restrictions always apply, regardless of controller type and technology.
Upcoming Training(s) to become an Approved Contractor
When available, training opportunities will be listed here as well as on the Florida Irrigation Society’s website www.fisstate.org.

We will have sales flyers that can be printed and distributed to customers, as well as counter-top signage. Approved contractors will also receive a website badge to let your customers know you’ve completed the training and are approved to participate in the program. Tampa Bay Water Wise’s approval is not an endorsement of any contractor or company, nor does it provide any guarantees to customers.
