How Does it work?

Homeowners who use potable water for irrigation (from one of these providers: Pinellas Couty, Hillsborough County, Pasco County, City of Tampa, City of St. Petersburg, City of New Port Richey) are eligible. Homes that use reclaimed water, well or pond water are not eligible.

Homeowner Steps

  • 1. Homeowners hire a licensed Irrigation Specialty Contractor from the list below to conduct an evaluation of the current irrigation system on your property.
  • 2. The contractor will evaluate the condition of your sprinkler system, make sure the irrigation timer is set correctly, and identify rebate-eligible system improvements. This evaluation may incur a fee charged by a contractor. All fees are determined by the contractor and not set by the rebate program. The rebate program is offering a $50 rebate to help cover any fees incurred during the initial evaluation.
  • 3. If the homeowner approves and pays for the proposed work, then the contractor will complete the work, provide the itemized receipt and a signed Contractor Rebate Form to the homeowner. The homeowner must also sign the Contractor Rebate Form. If no services beyond the evaluation are performed, homeowners may still apply for a $50 rebate and must have the Contractor Rebate Form completed.
  • 4. The homeowner will apply for the rebate online and attach all necessary documentation (including the Contractor Rebate Form) listed in the Document Requirements section of this page. Only one application per home is allowed during the pilot period, so make sure all work is completed before submitting a rebate application.

For this pilot phase, the homeowner must hire a contractor from this list
