If Replacing a Urinal Manufactured after 1993
If your urinals are older (from 1993 and earlier), you are eligible for the $75 rebate option when you install any EPA WaterSense certified urinals using 0.5 gpf. Eligible commercial buildings must have been built prior to 1995.
Upgrading to half-gallon urinals results in huge water savings, which can also lower your utility bill. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that a typical office building has the potential to reduce its water use by 26,000 gallons per year simply by switching to half-gallon urinals.
The urinal installed must be listed on the EPA WaterSense eligibility list, with a valve and fixture combination that is rated at 0.5 gpf or less. This list is available online at: https://lookforwatersense.epa.gov/Product-Search-Results-Urinal.html. Urinals that were manufactured in 1993 or earlier are eligible. Urinals being replaced must be conventional models with flush volumes rated 1.0 gpf or more.
The gallons per flush (gpf) may be found on the top of the valve or from a free pre-installation inspection.
If more than 20 urinals will be rebated, and you are concerned about eligibility prior to purchase, you may contact a qualified representative of Tampa Bay Water Wise to assess the eligibility of the property at (727) 791-2323.
Only property owners listed in the county assessor’s records are eligible to receive rebates, unless the property owner elects to assign the rebate to an authorized representative or third party by using the general release form here. Since property records and listings may vary, the program will allow rebate checks to be written to property owners or their authorized representatives when sufficient documentation is provided.
